Who is Mrs. Mortgage?

Mrs. Mortgage...

Mrs. Mortgage is a mortgage broker firm operating in Melbourne, with resources able to stretch around Australia.

Mrs. Mortgage is headed by the original "Mrs. Mortgage" Jennifer Schelbert. Jennifer has been working in the mortgage broking industry for years, and, realising that there was a niche for highly personalised, independent service, decided that it was time to go out on her own. Today Jennifer holds a Diploma in Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking Management), and has contacts with dozens of different lenders to get the best deal for you.

Today Mrs. Mortgage is a growing firm that has more than one "Mrs. Mortgage" working for it. As the company continues to grow, it still holds true to its core values of high ethics, while working for the client in the best possible manner. This means that when you come to see us we are not just putting you into the mortgage that will make the best commission for us, but the one that will suit you the best. This may even mean that we might send you back to your existing lender with no commission at all!

At Mrs. Mortgage we realise that very often people may wish to see us for advice on how to purchase their first home or investment property. If this is the case we will not push you into a contract until you are ready. Our service to you is free, but other fees may apply.

So call Mrs. Mortgage, talk to me, and find out how we can help you.

Captain Cook’s cottage. (an insight into the 'real' Mrs. Mortgage)

Everyone knows Captain Cook. His picture is on our $10 note. His cottage has been rebuilt in the Fitzroy Gardens, Melbourne, and of course he “discovered” Australia . But how many people know where he was born?

Well, James Cook (like me) was born in Yorkshire , England back in 1728 (quite a bit before me)... and he departed from the port of Whitby in Yorkshire on his famous voyage to change history. Back then Whitby was the seventh-largest port in England and home to a large whaling fleet.

Whitby is certainly one of the most picturesque ports in England . Its harbour is set in a ravine at the mouth of the River Esk. The town is famous for its ruined Abbey, narrow alleys and the quaint streets that climb down to the busy quay side, with its harbourside houses and small shops filled with crafts, curios, and antiques.

The church yard at Whitby is famous for providing the setting which inspired Bram Stoker to write his classic novel - Dracula. Charles Dickens and Lord Tennyson are also known to have enjoyed the hospitality of Whitby 's ancient inns.

Yorkshire is also famous for Yorkshire Pudding and the worlds best fish and chips. And for the hospitality of its people.

The people are pretty real and down to earth. They don't have a lot of time for nonsense. But they always have time for a cup of tea... particularly Yorkshire Tea.

So there are two things you can be sure of when you come and see me. Sound advice and a great cup of tea.
